Best choice is sleep….

Having to wait 14 hours between flights and not really wanting to do a tour, walk or anything else after 24 hours travelling, the suggestion to book a room for a shower and sleep has to be the best idea EVER.

Feeling refreshed and more relaxed, I’m looking forward to the final leg of this marathon expedition when I fly to Malta.

Agenda for this evening -I’m being driven to the airport by my accommodation host (€20)by 7pm, I’ll have something to eat at airport, fly out from Barcelona at 9:50pm, I’m to be picked up at the airport at 11:35, driven the length of Malta, catch a ferry to Gozo and should finally reach my destination at 02:35am.

My head is spinning trying to figure out how many hours I will have travelled by then but I’m sure I’ll update this post shortly.

By the way…I’ve been teaching myself Spanish for the last 19 months and was so pleased with myself using a few of the words at the airport when I was trying to find the luggage carousel from my flight (the customs took so long the notice which would have been on the screen had disappeared so it took a good twenty minutes trawling up and down 20 carousels before asking the authorities. I think I’ve done my 10,000steps) little did I realise on arriving at my accommodation my host promptly informed me they speak Catalan in Barcelona! All those wasted months πŸ˜‚.

A nice but small room. Had a shower and settled down for a really nice 4-5 hours. Up and dressed, logged in to Iberia to check in. This would have been a great idea if I hadn’t realised (after MANY attempts at entering my booking and e-ticket numbers and them not being recognised) that Vueling would be a better bet!

19:00 off to the airport with Antonio, checked in ‘maletta’, printed boarding pass, through scan successfully and currently sitting down in ‘La Place’ having ‘limonade’ and a mix your own salad.

Gate B65. 5 walking runways and more walking later I manage to time it perfectly to be boarding as I arrive. Taking off at 9:35 will be arriving around 11:30.

So it’s into aeroplane mode and we are off …

‘ Till tomorrow
