Day three with Dora…..

Well……might have slept all night if someone in Romania hadn’t phoned at 2:30! Anyway must have dozed off a bit and finally got up at 7am. Washed my ‘smalls’ and hung them up on the balcony.

After that had my breakfast and got ready to go out for my first Plein air experience (for those that didn’t know it’s painting outside at the scene). We headed off to Dahlet Qorot Bay.

We had a bit of trouble with the easels at the start but Dora managed to set them up eventually.

We both started by drawing the scene first. Dora discusses perspective with me initially then she did a demo for me so that I could see it being painted ‘in action’

I watched until hers was nearly done then we worked for a couple hours of hours with Dora elaborating on colours to utilise. My first painting done and thank goodness Dora was happy with it and she gave me lunch. (Not that I had to please her to be able to eat!)

Despite being in a pretty remote part of Gozo there were still people coming to the enjoy the scenery. It was a bit of a treat for me to hear them also admire my work too! I got a real buzz out of that.

Ok. Another painting later and we were both content to leave for the bit of a ride home.

Dora dropped me home then headed back to pharmacy to get cough medicine for me. She came back and made a spritzer with the juices she’d purchased.

We had dinner and whilst I was trying to write my blog I kept falling asleep so I retired to bed

Roll on tomorrow
