Didn’t we have a lovely time the day we went to Bangor. …… ….. and so it goes
Well we haven’t gone there-yet. But we headed out early to go to Harlech. Stopping for morning tea/brunch in Llandudno. The little tea house we chose was called Habit and I highly recommend it. The food was good and the service was excellent. Dogs simply everywhere!! Cats in Europe and dogs in Britain. Amazing. Just have to say I didn’t hear the dulcet tones of the male voice choir singing ‘men of Harlech’ either. A little disappointing. 😆

The scenery is breathtaking in Wales. When we reached Harlech we went into the castle. Managed the gazillion steps (puffing towards the top) to the ramparts only to find that an old couple (the lady was 89) were up there and a young couple with a baby (the young mum had a brace on her leg and using crutches!). Wow. Good effort.

Played the ‘Seniors card’ and saved £1.50 each. Ah ha!!
I do have a thing about statues. I just happen to see these guys in the last two days

Had a drink at ‘The Red Lion’ in Porthmadog then moved on after wondering whether the name reflected the numbers of dogs in the town!! We eventually stopped briefly in Bangor on the way home and purchased some food for the evening meal – mine was a very tasty beef and red wine pie with flaky pastry GLUTEN FREE, as was the New York cheesecake. Both from Marks and Spencer’s. Delicious. A two course meal for exactly £7.00.
My cough is a little relentless tonight so I’ve decided not to join my friends at the trivia night going on at the pub down the quayside. So I’m watching Snow White and the huntsman instead.
Also watched ‘Arrival’ whilst trying to keep the little fire alight For my friends to come home to, but also falling asleep constantly too. They came home eventually announcing they’d come equal second. I had imagined that it could have been held in welsh. Which could have been a whole different question!!Maybe if I’d gone we could have won? Never mind, I was More than happy with a couple of glasses of amaretto. 😋
We will leave Wales tomorrow and head for Newcastle in the northeast via Chester.
Goodnight until tomorrow….
