Day four…

Can’t believe it’s day four already!! Despite coughing most of the night I actually had a reasonable sleep thanks to the medication and hot lemon and honey Dora made for me. (What an angel). We had breakfast, readied the equipment and headed off to our destination for the day Xwejni Bay.

Gozo is very rocky and the incredible rock formations and salt pans of Zebbug, which would turn out to be our destination for the second plein air painting, were simply amazing.

We continued on down to the car park , unloaded the equipment and packed lunch then headed down to select our vantage point.

The colour of the sea was such a dark blue and I couldn’t wait to try to recreate it. It’s strange when you really look at a scene for long enough you start seeing all the colours that nature has combined.

I actually did two paintings and a drawing today. I’m not minding them a bit! Of course they don’t compare but I’m still happy.

How lucky am I. Laying here on the bed relaxing after another day out at the beach. Staring up at the twenty foot ceilings and wondering how many families have lived here in the over 300 years the home has been built.

Anyone wanting to experience a painting holiday could do no better for the tutoring, the accommodation and the new found friend I have in Dora. Her websites are:

Dora has been painting for over forty years, has had art exhibitions and written many books. Her father is also an artist and they’ve even exhibited and co-written books. How special to be one of her students.

Dinner tonight was tagliatelle with artichokes, tuna, eggs, Parmesan and gluten free pasta!!

30 million dollars tonight in Australian power ball. I do hope I win and then I can do these art experiences all the time!
