Day six with Dora……

A better night last night and the coughing only sounds like my grandmothers smokers cough! But up, breakfasted and ready to start my pen-ultimate day with Dora.

It’s still life today and I can tell you it’s as EASY AS PIE! 😂 😂 😂 NOT

Dora set up the display and I diligently sketched it in minute detail only to find that this is NOT what is required. Damn it. And I thought I’d done it so well

Anyone who know me knows I’m super competitive and want to do the best things all the time so I resign myself to tackling a ‘portion” of the setting. 😂

Anyhoo…. onwards and upwards. So I select a ‘section’

And in the beginning it looked as though a small child had run amok amongst my paints. Oh god save me I don’t know how Dora does it and I don’t mean paints, I mean tackling how to teach me!!

I finished or so I thought and commenced a smaller section as my subject. Well several animals must have joined those children as the results to my eyes are just as bizarre. Haha 😂

Finally with quite a few extra touches I produced something that wasn’t too hateful.

Not totally a waste of time

I’m finally ok with the work I’ve done thanks to the brilliant lady whom I now regard as a friend and mentor. It’s been a real learning curve and I intend to take this knowledge with me and practice practice practice.

With another aperol spritz, mousaka and yogurt Dessert I will be off later on to sleep before heading off to my next art week in Tuscany.

Stay tuned……

Ps. A memory for Dora – as she is ‘unhinged’. And that I had my ‘light bulb’ moment the week she taught me!!

  1. Thank you dear Heather. It was such huge a pleasure spending this week with you. You were a thoroughly wonderful student who worked really hard and made me super proud to be your tutor and also become your friend. I wish you the very best on the next leg of your artistic journey and I hope that you will return for another workshop with me, really soon. Next time we can spend it both on Malta and Gozo. What do you say?! xxx love from Teach
