Day four in Northern Ireland…

Was dozing in bed today when my cousins wife phoned me from downstairs!! We’d planned to go to Belfast on the bus and I needed to move the ‘bruised butt’ if I wanted to catch the bus in an hour. Launched out of bed and completed the morning rituals in time to jump in the car and make the bus on time.

£6.90 return Larne to Belfast. Not bad really. We reached there at ten and headed for the House of Fraser. This is a very nice department store. We wandered around several of the areas looking at clothing and accessories but ended up smelling perfumes. I’d seen an advert on tv about this amazing makeup that has over 100 different skin tones and they can match ones skin tone exactly. As I have the ‘International skin’ I doubted it but we made our way to the Charlotte Tilbury ’Flawless’ makeup and set the challenge to the consultant.

After several attempts this lovely girl suggested their tinted moisturiser. (So I do have different skin) It looked SO much better than the makeup. So I purchased that along with their ‘magic cream’ which is apparently their signature line, plus a really nice lipstick. Very happy with my purchases. We then window shopped along the many shops in the centre until we came to ‘River Island’ where I purchased a particularly beautiful creamy, satiny shirt with gold buttons. I’m looking forward to wearing this on the cruise along with my ‘Forever New’ cream jacket.

There was time for a bite to eat prior to boarding the bus back to Larne.

I’d had a message from Eleanor so I whizzed across ‘Sandy Bay’ and caught up with them both. Given I see them every few years there was a bit to talk about and one important item was that in today’s paper there was a two page spread of their daughter Julie who plays football(soccer) for All Ireland and has 100 caps. So I’m very pleased to say I knew this sportswoman when she was a little girl. Great to see her success.

Back home again to have dinner. I noticed that there is another elephant lurking at my cousins on the landing. What is going on with these elephants?

Before we caught up with another member of the family I remembered to take a couple of pictures.

The picture that started the whole ‘Art’ thing
The embroideries I did for my cousin’s wife

And their lovely dog Thunder who was recovering from an ear operation.

Back from visiting and up to bed to write the blog. Another new day tomorrow……

  1. Fabulous information Heather. What a wonderful effort to play Golf on that magnificent Course! You have fitted in so many activities! I didn’t realise your Parents were buried there. Did they move over there? Anyway keep enjoying your travels.🤗xx

    1. My mother wanted both hers and dads ashes to be interred in what she considered the family grave which is in Larne. So when I come over I visit. Yes that course was absolutely magnificent. If it had been better weather I’d love to have completed it. Hope to do that one day. Perhaps my next holiday will be a golfing adventure. I never thought to do that before!
