We met up with Joop and Marijke in the breakfast area and then headed off the ship to see if we could find a taxi.
It was the best decision we could have made.
Instead of paying €80 each (if we’d taken one of the cruise packages) we paid €37 each and had a great taxi driver (Antonio) take us up to the volcano.
I can’t describe how utterly amazing the experience was today. We went above the clouds which are on one side of the island. It was a sea of clouds and we felt as though we were in a plane. Then there was the scenery too. Stunning.

TENERIFE is on my bucket list for next time. It was sooo amazing that I cried with the overwhelming beauty and splendour. There were the remainders of craters, spectacular lava formations, it’s too hard to describe.
A MUST for anyone to see.
Three o’clock and we were back to the ship and having a late lunch. We joined our new friends for dinner, went to see the French themed concert complete with can can dancers then a couple of nightcaps later we were off to bed.
