Day 27 – 2nd September – Porto awaits…
14,164 steps
Up and away but not so early this morning. Walked down to the port through amazing vistas. Decided to get the gondolas down to the street below. We went over the bridge to Gaia. Decided to go down the gondola. The lady behind the desk agreed to give us a 10% discount for being old.

We were fortunate again as a lady selling tickets for the ‘6 puntos’ (Six bridges) was very nice and just happened to be spot on because it’s exactly the tour we wanted to go on. 18 euros later and we were lined up to go onto the boat. Many photos later (50 mins) of the Douro River we landed back at the pier.

Lunch at a really nice restaurant. I had the full meal for 23.5 euro plus the drinks. The waiter had to deal with us all awhich was a challenge but he managed. The meals were absolutely delicious.

We mosied along back towards our rooms and it was a really delightful walk. Stopping to do window shopping, actual shopping then parked ourselves at a restaurant to have a drink too.

Back home and thankfully the lift is now working which is a huge relief to those whose legs have developed kankles.

Brian and Helen are iced up and laying on the couch we are eating ham and cheese rolls for dinner.
Played UNO and this time it was ME who won!
