RETURN OF THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN

Day 6 – 12th August – a day in the Garden

Arduaine Garden- a long drive of over an hour and a half of spectacular views along the many Lochs and magnificent craggy mountains, we arrive.

Everything here looks like it costs about the same as in Australia…
But then you convert pounds to dollars and—voilà!—it’s suddenly twice as much.

Take last night’s meal, for example.
It was £40 for just me. At first, I thought, “Well, that’s not too bad.”
But once I did the maths, it worked out to around $76 AUD for one main meal, dessert, and a single drink.

Ooeer. Budget overload.
Delicious? Yes.
Reasonable? Debatable.
Memorable? Absolutely.

Never mind. We waited for the other group to arrive, then set off walking around the gardens together.

Sadly, most of the blooms had gone, leaving behind a quieter palette of greens and fading petals. But the views from the lookouts more than made up for it—sweeping coastal vistas, gentle sea breezes, and that peaceful hush you only find in places like this.

It was quite warm today (for English weather) at 24 degrees which made for another visit to the hotel at the car park for refreshments.

Returning to Fort William along the way were some really spectacular views.
