Day 42 – 17th September – a day in Athens
Thankfully a call from Di meant we had hot water for our showers. (It appears that many places here have switches that have to be flicked so the hot water appears). It’s also a rule about not flushing toilet paper ???? Well anyway…
Something has happened to my blog so it’s muddled up somehow. I’ll hopefully fix it all when I get home but I’m going to forge on ahead.
Day 43 – 18th September- on board the ship
Day 44 – 19th September-Chania-Crete
Day 45 – 20th September- Santorini
Day 46 – 21st September- Ephesus-Turkey
Day 47 – 22nd September- Mykonos
Day 48 – 23rd September- day at sea
Not much happened today except a game of UNO with the others (which I won) and the girls and I went to the salsa dance class. This was fun. Oh, and Jan and I went to the dot painting activity and painted coasters.

Day 49 – 24th September- Kavala
Up early and had our breakfasts in the dining room today. It was a really nice one and also nice to be waited on. We had to catch the tender over to the dock so I met up with Christine and Alice and we set off to discover the sites.

It was a really steep walk up to the castle but I did it. Christine and Alice faltered half way up and decided not to go any further. The view and the 5 euro entrance fee was worth it.

We have seen a lot of churches and castles during this holiday and they never cease to amaze me.

It was a very hot exercise today and after the expedition to the top I decided I’d had enough. The others stayed on hoping to do a tuk-tuk up the hill. I caught the tender back to the ship.
It’s amazing what a bite to eat and a shower do for you.
Had a shower, went to dinner, watched the show and off to bed. I haven’t kicked up my heels after 10 any day on the ship. I think I’m simply exhausted! 13,188 steps
